OUR STORY
BimBi Italiani started in 2019 from a conversation between two young Italian mothers in Bangkok, Elena Del Fabbro and Ilaria Lanzoni, both raising small children in multicultural families.
The desire was clear: to give their children the chance to grow up feeling also Italian, even if living far from Italy and in a mixed family.
After Ilaria's departure – Elena turned the idea into reality. With the support of her husband, Andy, she launched a Facebook page and the first BimBi Italiani, Bangkok group. Just a few months later, in August 2019, the very first event was held in a private home. It gathered over 70 participants.
It was the beginning of a journey: family gatherings, workshops, and activities that, during COVID-19, expanded beyond Thailand’s borders to become global experiences. The first international projects were created, such as Nonnolandia and Amici di Penna, opening new paths of connection and solidarity.
BimBi Italiani is now established as one of the very few organizations in the world that builds cultural and educational networks among children, youth, families, businesses, and sector experts. A platform that promotes Italian language, culture, traditions, and the Made in Italy with innovative approaches, firmly rooted in cultural heritage. A bridge connecting Italy to the world and the world to Italy, filling a gap that had not existed before.
BimBi Italiani also consolidates institutionally :
In June 2022 - Elena Del Fabbro, Laura Perin, and Elisetta Grigoletto, officially registered BimBi Italiani as a cultural association – Third Sector Entity (ETS) listed in the RUNTS.
In October 2022 - Elena Del Fabbro and Pathiphan Mancuso, registered BimBi Italiani in Thailand under the name Italian Kids (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
BimBi Italiani ETS is a global organization, fostering connections and educational networks. BimBi Italiani Thailand is the first local hub — a laboratory of experimentation and a replicable model for other countries.

MORE THAN A NAME, MORE THAN A LOGO
“BimBi Italiani” is not just a name: it is an invitation to recognize oneself, to come together, and to feel part of a global community—regardless of age, place of residence, or origins.
“BimBi” means everyone: children, teenagers, young adults as well as parents, grandparents, and educators who continue to look at the world with curiosity, creativity, and an open heart.
“Italiani” does not only mean being born in Italy. It means preserving and living a deep connection with Italian culture: the language, the traditions, the creativity, the stories that bring people together. It means belonging to a tradition that welcomes, reinvents itself, and creates connections between people and places.
Our symbol is a BRIDGE that connects Italy and the world, and in doing so connects children, families, educators, and communities in a spirit of sharing and discovery.
